Official Charts Company

Full rebrand of The Official Charts Company, carried out ahead of their 60th anniversary in 2012. The focus of the brief was to create an enduring, flexible identity, alongside a memorable brand icon that would act as a kitemark and stamp of authenticity for their communications. Underlining their importance as the creators and official guardians of the nation’s musical charts.

Our solution drew on the essence of the organisation: An arrow climbing up, an arrow going down – together forming the all important number 1.

Scope of work included the logotype and icon, an identity system for the creation of various sub-brands and charts, brand guidelines, print collateral, presentation templates and brand animations. As well as the design of the Number 1 Award – which is presented to each artist that gains that all-important chart position.
